I don't have a photo of anything to do with Hobart. In fact the only Bart photo I have is this one, of The Courier Mail and The Sunday Mail turf editor Bart Sinclair (closest camera) interviewing Gold Coast trainer John Wallace after Mitanni won last Saturday, so we shall give it a guernsey.

The C. F. Orr Stakes to be run at Caulfield next Saturday over 1400 metres has attracted all the racing headlines during the week and being at Group 1 level and containing some of Australasia’s best gallopers that seems a fair call. Well, a fair call until you are advised that the Group 3 Hobart Cup to be run Monday afternoon at Tattersall’s Park at Elwick in Tasmania is worth 25% more prizemoney then the Orr Stakes.
Excluding trophies, the Orr Stakes is officially worth $300,000 whilst the Hobart Cup is worth $400,000 - yet the Hobart Cup hasn’t rated a mention around the traps and features some very legless excuses for horses, such that you can already get up to 300-1 each way fixed odds about their chances, if you so desire.
But the very fact that amount of prizemoney is available in Tasmania would lead you to question why the race doesn’t have starters from every State of Australia. Where are all the top Sydney stayers, or don’t they have any?
