The Melbourne Racing Club has announced Josh Blanksby will succeed Brodie Arnhold as its chief executive later this year.

Blanksby will begin the role on December 15, succeeding Arnhold who has spent 10 years with the club including just under five as chief executive.

Blanksby is currently the MRC’s executive director, racing & corporate affairs.

“Within Brodie’s tenure, first as committeeman then as CEO, the MRC has implemented a strategy to firmly put the club on a pathway to a more financially sustainable and exciting future,” MRC chairman Mike Symons said.

“To that end I’d like to acknowledge and congratulate Brodie for his outstanding contribution.

“Josh is well qualified to now further progress that strategy as our next chief executive. “He has been with the MRC for more than three years and has successfully achieved every task asked of him by the committee, working effectively with the entire racing industry and our key stakeholders like the state government.”
