The track has improved on race morning to a soft 6 and the rail 14m last week is gone and we race back in true. What I like most about this meeting is that there are two serious spring carnival contenders appearing on a Wednesday.

Why: These will never race on a Wednesday again. Roll over the shorts each of them.

BEST VALUE:      Race 8  #4 KILMACURRAGH – Looked plain first-up, stewards queried run, horse vetted clear but this is an easier BM70 than the one he contested there if that makes any sense.  The short Weir favorite here KNIGHT’S WATCH comes of a BM64 but does things wrong and has barrier issues.  $5.5 bet now

Race 3: 14-4-7-2 (Sorenata good and tough Bairnsdale, gets good run here to stall off Weir pair) $8 bet now

Race 4: 2-5-3-4 (Was a $10 chance on debut but Lina’s Hero won like a 10’s on shot)  $2.45 bet now

Race 5: 1-2-5-6 (query It’s Time For Magic but Motown Lil has a touch of class here).  2.35 bet now

Race 6: 6-3-8-9 (stand out Speedeor, better than these and in under minimum to beat!)  $1.75 bet now

Frace 7: 2-12-8-4 (Crocodile Rock starts boosting rating off this for better spring races).  $1.85 bet now

Race 8: 4-7-9-3 (Forgiving Kilmacurragh first-up, looks attractive gamble here).  $5.5 bet now
