Freedman gets Singapore work permit

Lee Freedman.

Lee Freedman is set to start training in Singapore with the final piece of paperwork approved.

An Australian Racing Hall of Fame trainer, Freedman was last month granted a licence to train at Kranji and the Singapore Turf Club allocated him stables from September 1.

His work permit has now been granted and the STC said horses would be starting in his name from Friday night.

“Trainer Lee Freedman’s employment pass has been approved by the Ministry of Manpower and horses will run under his name starting from this Friday race meeting,” the STC said in a statement.

A five-time Melbourne Cup-winning trainer, Freedman has most recently been training in partnership with his brother Anthony in Melbourne since late 2014.
