Race 1 – 11:30AM 2yo Plate (1000m)

Good little race to start the day, but I won’t be betting with any confidence because this track could be anything. No. 5 Lipizzan won well last start at Canterbury, gets in well at the weights after the claim and she should be ready to peak now. No. 4 Champagne Cuddles resumes and has trialled well this time in. Her debut win at Rosehill was very good and I think she is the best horse in this race, but I am worried about her on a wet track.  No. 3 Evict is a smart colt who has shown nice ability at the trials. No. 1 Florid worked home well in his recent trial and he did win on a heavy track before he went for a spell.

Small bet on the 5 to win bet now $3.90

Race 2 – 12:05PM Benchmark 72 Handicap (1100m)

No. 4 Best Guess is a lightly raced gelding who has shown very good ability in all four starts. The stable has him rock hard fit, he has raced well on a heavy track in the past and barrier two ensures a perfect run. No. 8 Vienna Romance has been good in both runs back this prep and her only win was on a heavy track. No. 3 In Times Of War is a consistent animal who won well last start but the big weight and the heavy track are big negatives. No. 2 Cadogan put his best foot forward and won like a nice horse first-up at Scone. He is fitter now and he should get a nice run throughout just behind the speed.

Back the 4 to win bet now $4.80

Race 3 – 12:40PM Highway Handicap (1000m)

No. 4 Il Bandito is a very serious animal who has won both career starts in his first prep. The wet track is a concern, but he handled the soft track last start and I expect his class to take him a long way. No. 6 I’m Imogen resumes and won her recent trial at Hawkesbury. She showed above average ability last prep, her heavy track form is very good and barrier one is ideal. No. 3 Clipper has done nothing wrong in her short career and her first-up win suggests that she has come back better this prep. No. 2 Nictock is unbeaten in three career starts and his recent trial showed that he is ready to fire first-up. Needs luck from the draw.

Back the 4 to win $3.20 bet now

Race 4 – 1:15PM Stayers Cup (3200m)

I am not very excited about this staying race and I am not too keen to have a bet because this will be an absolute slog. No. 7 Diamond Made ran well last start and she does love a heavy track. No. 2 Soviet Courage was good behind Allergic last start and the distance is no concern at all. No. 1 Broadside could keep going if they leave him alone in front and No. 8 He’s Dreamin’ could run a cheeky race at big odds with no weight on his back.

Small bet on the 7 if you need to have at $19 bet now

Race 5 – 1:50PM Benchmark 72 Handicap (2000m)

No. 5 Mandalay Bay should have nearly won last start but he was held up at a vital stage and had to settle for fourth placing. This Victorian gelding should be closer to the speed from barrier two this weekend and the wet track should be no worry. No. 1 San Pablo stuck on well when the blinkers were reapplied last start. He should be fitter now and he could be hard to run down if they leave him alone up front. No. 12 Nettoyer was good on debut and then improved again in her latest effort at this track. The break between runs is a worry, but if she can relax throughout then she should be hitting the line hard with no weight on her back. No. 10 Lord Kingsley is a hard horse to catch, but if he repeats his latest effort then he will be right in the finish.

Back the 5 each way $6.50 bet now

Race 6 – 2:30PM Benchmark 80 Handicap (1400m)

No. 4 Heavenly Anna did a bit wrong mid-race last start, but I really liked the way she attacked the line late. She does need luck from the draw, but her record over this trip is good and the wet track is a massive tick. No. 9 Labdien is racing consistently, drops in weight and barrier one ensures a loverly run behind the speed. No. 11 Tennessee Hussy wasn’t disgraced last start in a BM 78, drawn well and finds a heavy track on Saturday. This mare ticks a few boxes in this race and I think she might be a bit of value. No. 7 Anisha must be included in everything on this wet track.

Back the 4 each way at $6 bet now and have a boxed quinella 4, 7, 9, 11

Race 7 – 3:10PM June Stakes (1100m)

No. 8 Inz’N’Out went too hard in front last start, but I liked the way he stuck on to run fifth. His second-up record is great and if he gets some luck from the draw then he will be very hard to get past. No. 10 Grunderzeit did nothing last start, but his first-up run was good enough to run a big race in this. Fitter now. No. 1 Felines is a tough mare who rarely run s a brave race and No. 6 Boss Lane returned with a good effort first-up, so keep an eye on him at big odds.

Back the 8 each way at $7.50 bet now

Race 8 – 3:50PM Benchmark 80 Handicap (2000m)

No. 2 Curragh has been good in all four runs this prep and he looks ready for 2000m now. He has drawn perfectly and the 3kg claim bring him in well at the weights. No. 6 Get On The Grange is a tough old horse who ran a brave race over this trip last start. The wet track is a tick and he is another horse who will appreciate a 3kg claim. No. 9 More Energy ran a huge race last start, but the wide barrier is a big concern because I think he will get back too far.  No. 3 Multifacets strips fitter now and if found his best form then he would be a massive chance at big odds.

Back the 2 and 6 each way

Race 9 – 4:30PM Benchmark 78 Handicap (1200)

No. 2 Painte hasn’t had much luck this prep, but he should get every chance to produce his best on Saturday. He has a great record over this trip, drawn well, loves a heavy track and barrier three is a big tick. No. 14 Knit’N’Purl is racing consistently and hopefully from the good barrier they are more positive on her. This mare loves a wet track and she has no weight on her back. No. 7 Stella Ombra hit the line well last start at Doomben and I like that he has had a recent trial to keep him ticking over. Stella Ombra loves this distance and his trainer must be respected when he brings one down the highway. No. 10 Clear The Beach was dominant first-up and he is fitter now, but the wide draw is a big worry.

Back the 2 each way $9.50 bet now
