Unbeaten filly Agarwood continued her rise with an impressive front-running win at Randwick, keeping her perfect record intact.
After a midweek win at Warwick Farm, she stepped up to Saturday grade and dominated the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation Handicap (1200m) under Adam Hyeronimus.
She holds a nomination for the J J Atkins (1600m), but Tulloch Lodge’s Neil Paine doubts she’ll be stretched to the mile this campaign.
The Oxlade Stakes (1200m) shapes as a more likely option, though a spell remains on the table.
“We will see how she pulls up,” Paine said.
“It was a very easy watch. Adam controlled it in front… She’s a terrific filly.”
Paine added the lightly framed Agarwood will benefit further with maturity.
Agarwood ($1.95 fav) beat Matima ($10) by 2-1/4 lengths, with Providence ($31) closing late for third.
Chris Waller’s pair, Providence and Regulated Affair, could also head north, with the former aimed at The Phoenix (1500m) on Oaks Day and both entered for the JJ Atkins.
