Chris Waller is confident that boom filly Autumn Glow is ready to make her return to racing after an impressive track gallop.
The three-year-old, slightly behind schedule, has been cleared to resume in the $200,000 Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill this Saturday. Waller, along with Arrowfield Stud’s John Messara, Jon Freyer, and jockey James McDonald’s wife Katelyn, watched her work solo at Kensington last Thursday and were all left impressed.
“She is quite special,” Waller said. “We were taken away by the piece of work, the way she moves.”
Unbeaten in three starts, Autumn Glow was on track for the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) last spring before a minor knee issue halted her progress.
Waller isn’t concerned by her delayed return, stating Autumn Glow will have plenty of time to prove herself. She is the $1.90 favourite for her first-up run, with a light preparation planned before targeting races like the Arrowfield 3YO Stakes (1200m) or James HB Carr Stakes.
