Bjorn Baker is confident Paradoxium can follow the path of Unencumbered and O’Ole after the colt’s commanding win in the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic.
Both Unencumbered (2013) and O’Ole (2024) claimed the Wyong feature before winning the Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast, and Baker believes Paradoxium is capable of doing the same.
The $2.35 favourite surged clear to win Wednesday’s 1100m sprint by 2¾ lengths over Mystical, with stablemate Masvingo third.
“We’re in the Magic Millions now and I’m hoping third time lucky… I think this guy is as good, if not better, than all of them,” Baker said.
A $400,000 son of Extreme Choice, Paradoxium was fourth in the Breeders’ Plate on debut and impressed in two subsequent trials before returning at Wyong.
Jason Collett praised his professionalism under pressure.
“He copped some pressure early, he soaked it up and he kicked off it, which was good,” Collett said.
Baker says this year’s group of juveniles is his strongest yet.
Paradoxium is set to run next in the B J McLachlan Stakes before heading to the Magic Millions Classic.
The Magic Millions Wyong 3YO & 4YO Stakes was won by The Three Hundred, who held off late challengers King Of Roseau and Spywire, with protests dismissed.
