Dean Yendall out for at least two days

Dean Yendall suffered no breaks in yesterdays fall.

Leading Victorian jockey Dean Yendall will miss at least two days riding after suffering a shoulder injury in a fall at Mildura.

Yendall told Melbourne’s RSN927 he initially thought he had broken his scapula in the fall which happened shortly after the start of the final race on Monday.

Scans cleared him of any breaks but he said he had pain in his left shoulder and arm and would not be riding on Tuesday or Wednesday.

He will assess things later in the week ahead of Saturday’s Winter Finals program at Flemington.

“I will wait and see,” Yendall said.

“There is no good rushing it.”

Yendall rode three winners at Mildura before the incident taking his season tally in Victoria to 138, 17 more than second-placed Linda Meech on the state premiership.

He sits third on the national standings behind Western Australia’s William Pike and Queensland’s Jeff Lloyd.
