Anthony Freedman has trained a Group One quinella in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield with Santa Ana Lane beating Mr Sneaky.
Ridden by Dean Yendall, Santa Ana Lane was an outsider in Sunday’s 14-horse field but produced a powerful finishing burst to overtake his stablemate.
Freedman said he was uncertain whether Santa Ana Lane would progress to the Toorak Handicap over an extra 200 metres.
