Golden Slipper equal favourite Incognito will begin his autumn campaign when he resumes in the Canonbury Stakes at Rosehill.
The colt announced himself in the spring with a sharp victory in the Breeders’ Plate (1000m).
He has since tuned up for his return with two trials, most recently finishing a close third behind stablemates Enriched and Manaal.
Trainer Michael Freedman has been delighted with how the youngster has come back.
“He has certainly strengthened up a little bit, and he’s still got a beautiful temperament, which is just as important,” Freedman said.
“I think he’s come back in great order.”
Freedman previously trained Incognito’s sire Stay Inside, the 2021 Golden Slipper winner.
Incognito will follow a slightly different path towards the $5 million feature.
“The long-term plan would be the Canonbury into the Silver Slipper and Todman,” Freedman said.
“Things can change a little bit with two-year-olds, but that would be the plan at the moment.”
Eight colts and geldings are entered for Saturday’s Canonbury Stakes (1100m), with Incognito to carry 57.5kg.
The fillies will contest the Widden Stakes (1100m), including stablemate Hardanger.
