King Of Light turns heads with dazzling debut at Pinjarra

King Of Light delivered a stunning debut at Pinjarra on Saturday, bursting from last to claim the Tabtouch Place A Same Race Multi Plate (1300m).

Trained by Dan Morton, the son of Earthlight loomed as a potential WA Guineas (1600m) prospect after swooping past race favourite Aberdeen Flyer with ease.

Ridden by William Pike, King Of Light surged to the line untouched, winning by half a length and confirming his status as one to watch.

“Very pleasing and he’s been a nice horse all the way through for us,” Morton told Tabradio.

“To get the job done first up over 1300m was really good.”

While Morton typically likes his youngsters to have multiple starts, he hinted the colt may go straight to the paddock.

“Horses like him you would naturally aim up at a Guineas, we’ll work backwards from that,” he said.

“I don’t see any reason why he’s not the type of horse that will try to.”
