Zac Lloyd is hoping to deliver another major moment for close friend and Domeland trainer Nacim Dilmi when Probability Theory lines up in the Spring Stakes (1600m) at Newcastle.
Lloyd rode Dilmi’s first winner, Aix En Provence, in August, and now aims to help him secure his maiden black-type victory.
“I’m excited to team up with him in a feature race,” Lloyd said.
“He’s a good friend of mine and he has improved this horse quite quickly. It has strung together two nice wins.”
Probability Theory steps up to the mile after two Hawkesbury victories over 1300 metres and rises sharply in grade, but Lloyd believes the field is evenly matched outside leading hope Grand Prairie.
“He is stepping up drastically in grade but in saying that, the majority of the field are beside Grand Prairie,” he said.
Lloyd also rides favourite Yorkshire in the $1 million The Hunter (1300m), a key stepping stone towards the The Ingham (1600m) next month.
“When a horse doesn’t really know how to lose like he does, he’s definitely in with a good chance,” Lloyd said.
