Thoroughbreds are being prepared for late summer and autumn campaigns and TAB has opened ‘Pre Nominations’ markets for the Doncaster Mile, T.J. Smith Stakes, Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Sydney Cup as part of The Championships in 2021 on April 3 and 10 at Royal Randwick.
Recent Golden Eagle winner Colette, 2019 Flight Stakes winner Funstar, September’s Golden Rose runner-up North Pacific, two-time Group 1 winner Ole Kirk and Probabeel – triumphant in October’s Epsom – are $15 equal favourites at TAB for the Doncaster Mile on April 3.
Bivouac was dominant in last month’s Darley Classic at Flemington on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and is the $5 favourite at TAB to claim the T.J. Smith Stakes on April 3 with this year’s winner Nature Strip the $11 second elect.
Addeybb was victorious over Verry Elleegant in this year’s Queen Elizabeth Stakes and they are $6 equal favourites at TAB for the 2021 edition on April 10 ahead of Russian Camelot and October’s Cox Plate winner Sir Dragonet (both $8 chances).
Three-time Melbourne Cup runner Finche, the Peter Moody-trained import Nickajack Cave and two-time Melbourne Cup aspirant Surprise Baby are $15 equal favourites at TAB for the Sydney Cup on April 10.
