Brad Rawiller’s comeback gained more momentum with another win for trainer Charlotte Littlefield at Sale on Wednesday.
The veteran hoop, sidelined for eight months, notched his third victory for the stable since returning with a narrow win aboard Yes We Are in the Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden (1013m).
“My last three rides for Charlotte have been winners,” Rawiller told racing.com. “Even before I went away, I had a good record for her.”
Yes We Are ($3.40) held off $3.20 favourite Blethyn by a nose, with Tara’s Reward ($6.50) third.
Rawiller said the gelding is still learning: “He hasn’t mastered it… he’s got a lot of potential. He should have won a lot easier than he did today.”
Gear changes recommended by suspended jockey Ben Allen paid off, with a tongue tie and earmuffs helping Yes We Are perform more professionally.
The meeting was abandoned after race three due to worsening weather, with jockeys citing safety concerns amid heavy rain and wind. The track was downgraded to a Heavy 10.
