Trainer Gordon Richards will unveil two well-related youngsters at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Gwyllgi, a son of Gytrash’s half-sister Outlaw Miss, and Bold Star’s full-sister Bold Starlet will both debut in a 1250m maiden.
Richards said the pair have shown promise, though Saturday will provide a clearer guide.
“I’m happy with them both and I think they both trialed pretty good the other day,” Richards said.
“Horses have to be super special to win at their first start but as long as they pick up some experience from it and we learn about them, that’s what we’re hoping for.”
Gwyllgi, a $50,000 Magic Millions yearling, has proven temperamental but impressed in recent work. “He’s precocious… when he gets down to business, he’s into it,” Richards said.
Bold Starlet, purchased for $45,000, has shown early signs she could match her stakes-winning brother. “She’s probably shown more than him at this stage,” Richards said.
