Race 1
The Waller trained pair 3 IRISH OPTIMISM & 4 XEBEC are first and second favorites here and look hard to beat. The Waller stable aren’t enjoying a good run at Doomben, and I’m leaning toward 1 MORENDI. He did is share of work last week, but still outstayed his rivals. He is getting up in the weights here but is going well and gets an EW play.

5 MISS SARA is a 5 start maiden, but did chase home PLUMARO last start in a reasonable effort, gets blinkers first time and J Lloyd on, looks the winner but is very short. 1 YOU KNOW THE ONE, a Bullet Train gelding, is bred to get out to a trip and the 1350m could suit. It has failed on the heavy, so be wary of the track conditions.

Looks a race between 5 SAVWELL & 7 AQUATIC, with both in winning form. I really liked the way 5 SAVWELL hit the line when winning last start, he was a month between and really steamed home late. The step up to the 1600m here is perfect, and I have him on top. 7 AQUATIC will likely settle 1 pair further back than SAVWELL and will be getting home hard, looks the obvious quinella.

6 DON’T LEAVE ME OUT has chased home a couple of smart ones in JOHNNY WHITESOX & SETOGA his last 2 starts, and finds a winnable race here. Should get a good run from the gate, and with only 54.5kg and the inform M McGillivray aboard, this looks his chance to get back into the winner circle.

Looks a match race between 1 FORTENSKY & 2 NICONOVA and they dominate the market. The real 2 NICONOVA would eat 1 FORTENSKY, who was beaten fair and square by DREAM FINNISH at the sunny coast last Sunday. Trainer Steve Tregea is a good judge, and all reports are he is very happy with the horse. His trial was good, and can resume a winner here.

9 LET’S PARTY MARTY can either lead or box seat and looks the winner. He was a dominant winner in this grade 2 starts back, before being beaten 0.7L in a strong class 6 race last time out. Drops back to Class 3 grade here, should win.

Looks the right race for 7 INSPIRED ESTELLE to bounce back to winning form here. She got too far back in a leader dominated race last time, and from the gate here can settle 5th 1 off the fence. She will looking the winner at some stage with any luck. Forget 3 TYZONE went around last time, he will drift back here, but can be working home late.

1 DIAMONDS ARE in is sparkling form, and meets similar opposition here, in similar conditions to last start. The claim is handy and is the one to beat. 4 KUTTAMURRA AL was very plain last start, albeit in harder grade. His form before that was good, and his best would give this a shake.
