Another Wednesday at Hillside with rail out 12m and a good competitive pre-Xmas meeting. Not surprisingly we will be dealing with much of Weir v Lindsay Park again.
BEST BET: Race 4 #9 HOLY SEAL
BEST VALUE: Race 1 #11 MR MONEY BAGS
Race 1: 11-7-9-1
Strong maiden, but thinking the fitness and addition of blinkers points to some value in hopefully the well named MR MONEY BAGS. Three of these comes through the same lead-in race and think AMSCHEL can beat home BLINKY O’RIELLY and FIX THE DATE again. Respecting Weir with HERMANITO coming to down for a city maiden of a building Warrnambool effort. Off long break AKAMON respected, form through debut strong.
SUGGESTED: Wide race but at the value MR MONEY BAGS.
Race 2: 1-3-4-8
Was with the Weir runner PLEASURING who is now scratched. That leaves me with ANOTHER FLAG whose form took an improve with Kasi Farasi winning Saturday, not sure how many flags (wins) in this bloke but can win a maiden. Interest in CAPTIVATPOR back gelded with blinkers with query is EL PHOENIX (Lindsay Park).
SUGGESTED: Going with ANOTHER FLAG.
Race 3: 5-10-8-13
Good Class 1 (don’t have many of these in these BM days) with 5 last start winners to marry up but Weir’s BUCK BAY was backed to win on debut and did so accordingly. Obviously can take this next step. Likewise JUSTSIMMER who has Caserta’s claim to help, saved for this mid-week assignment. SKY PUNCH is the trialer resuming to be respected. SHOKORA did a big job resuming after missing start to win maiden.
SUGGESTED: Good race, sticking with Weir and BUCK BAY.
Race 4: 9-6-1-7
A clear Weir (HOLY SEAL) v Lindsay Park (BOORADLEY) race for mine and gap to third pick NORDIC EMPIRE (back in form but not a fan). Going HOLY SEAL resuming over BOORADLEY (likewise) but off a good Werribee hit out recently. They should nail the quinella. VILLA ROSA hasn’t lived to expectation but has a place hope from draw with Williams up.
SUGGESTED: Easy way out the quinella but leaning HOLY SEAL.
Race 5: 3-4-5-6
Ok this time going Lindsay Park DOMESTICATED over Weir STORM HARBOUR. Reckon Domesticated well and truly ready for the 1800m, not worried alley this start with Kersley’s vital claim. Weir also claiming and Storm Harbour a clear danger. WHISTLER BOWL got away with a brilliant on pace riding and those tactics last time in maiden and they have waited for this grade to go again. ADATTO is going ok, fitness edge.
SUGGESTED: Leaning DOMESTICATED.
Race 6: 6-11-12-1
Pretty even (moderate) contest but there has to be a winner and MICHELIN is going as well if not better formwise than most of these. CORRS comes with the in-form Cumani-Meech combination and is in the mix. GRAND CASINO was better last time and has Williams as a plus (hopefully). THE MIGHTY JROD has at least put two wins together, that’s taken some time and are not going to knock those credentials here.
SUGGESTED: Wide in quaddie but MICHELIN if you must.
Race 7: 3-4-2-1
Most of these main chances know each other from a recent race where they finished together with SENSATION ALLY leading them home but like the blinkers going on HECTOPASCAL (Weir), something he lastly reverts to normally. And it might work. ALMA’S ROSSA needs some luck in transit but is ready to peak for a win. TRINITY HILL has upside. That said CYMBALISM goes in a quaddie.
SUGGESTED: Tough but gear change swings me HECTOPASCAL.
Race 8: 2-12-9-7
Tough race to finish but if DUSTY JACK is going to win another race, he’s in the right grade, especially with the Kersley claim. SOHOOL has drawn the inside which may be no favour by the last race but no doubt Allen and Weir can tactically work that out. SO POYSED resumes and has the right firm if ready to go. WAZZENME has been struggling for its best form but not going to leave out.
SUGGESTED: Gambling DUSTY JACK in right race.
QUADDIE: (Tough – going wide and flexi)
