Godolphin filly Tempted will put her claims for a start in The Everest at Randwick to the test when she contests the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
With the Godolphin slot still undecided, victory would strengthen her case, as it would for stablemate Beiwacht who runs in the Royal Blue for Chris Waller.
Tempted has drawn barrier eight in the nine-horse field and again has Ethan Brown aboard after their Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) triumph earlier this month.
Trainer Ciaron Maher said the filly has thrived at his Bong Bong property, where she can spend time in the paddock.
“She’s not over big but has a lot of depth to her,” Maher said. “She relaxes well, she eats well, and it suits those types of horses that can be a bit highly strung.”
Rather than press on to the Caulfield Guineas, Tempted is more likely to be freshened for The Everest or the Coolmore Stud Stakes.
