Australian Oaks Free Tips, Bets and Field Preview – 2021

The Australian Oaks has drawn a typically talented field of ten three-year-old fillies to Royal Randwick on Day 2 of The Championships.

Won by some of our better stayers on their way to bigger and better things, the Australian Oaks features three Group 1 winners in 2021 and it looms as a terrific betting race.

Australian Oaks – Winner

No. 5 Impecunious – Bet Now: $15.00

Impecunious has continued to improve with each start back this time and she looms as a winning chance in the Australian Oaks, at a big price ($17 at publish).

The Sacred Falls filly finished fourth in the Angus Armanasco when resuming and has since finished third in both the Phar Lap Stakes and the Vinery Stud Stakes.

Her most-recent effort particularly in Group 1 company was impressive and saw her keep all of her best work for late.

Getting further out in trip looks ideal and we can have a genuine each way play at the price.

Australian Oaks – 2nd

No. 4 Harmony Rose – Bet Now: $3.30

Harmony Rose simply doesn’t know how to run a bad race, and she reaches her Grand Final at Randwick on Saturday.

The Glass Harmonium filly has recorded three wins and as many minors from just six career starts and as that record would suggest, she has been outstanding this time in.

She charged in for third behind Lion’s Roar in the Randwick Guineas two back, and was beaten only a head by Hungry Heart in the Vinery last time.

She is at peak fitness for this contest, and I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.

Australian Oaks – 3rd

No. 2 Amarelinha – Bet Now: $4.80

Kiwi sensational Amarelinha brings a unique form line into the Australian Oaks and could very easily win the race.

The Savabeel filly is yet to finish worse than second in seven career starts, winning five times including three in succession leading into this race; the New Zealand Oaks included.

She looks to be a serious star on the rise, leading Kiwi hoop Opie Bosson will make the trip across the Tasman to ride, and she can fight out the finish.

Australian Oaks – 4th

No. 3 Hungry Heart – Bet Now: $4.80

She’s untested at the trip so it’s obviously impossible to tell, but I’m not confident that Hungry Heart will see out a mile and a half, and I’m happy to put a couple of these fillies ahead of her in my selections.

The Frankel filly has always hinted at Group 1 ability since making her debut, and while she went agonizingly close on several occasions previously, she finally realised it in the Vinery Stud Stakes last time out.

Kerrin McEvoy keeps the ride and Hungry Heart should get every opportunity to performer from her inside draw.
