Torrens has an excellent chance to make a winning return to the races at Tamworth this afternoon. He has recorded four wins from his five race starts and on his best form he does have a clear class edge over the rest of this field. It will be interesting to see how far he gets this campaign and he really should prove too strong for his rivals.

EACH-WAY: No. 1 Articus – Bet Now: $14.00
This is a very open edition of the Tamworth Cup and Articus is the horse that represents serious value. He didn’t have any luck in running when he returned to the races in the Muswellbrook Gold Cup and he should take good benefit from that performance. Barrier two is ideal for him and he will get a lovely run in transit with Samantha Clenton in the saddle.

No. 7 Fourth Protocol – Bet Now: $18.00
This is a tough way to finish the day for punters, but Fourth Protocol is the clear standout from a value betting proposition. He has recorded three wins from his seven race starts over 1000 metres and all his best form have come over this trip. The Dane Shadow gelding will make his own luck right on the speed and he should be in the finish.
