Horse Racing Tips & Best Bets – Sunday 5th July, 2020

Sunday will see plenty of quality thoroughbred racing across the country with our focus being on the meeting at Warrnambool in Victoria. Take a look at our horse racing tips and best bets for Sunday 5th July, 2020.

Warrnambool – Race 4 1:35AM AEST

No. 4 Runaway – Bet Now: $SP.00

Runaway is clearly a talented jumper and strikes a very winnable contest at The ‘Bool this afternoon.

Once a Melbourne Cup contestant, the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained gelding and has finished second at each of his last two starts, including the Australian Hurdle at Sandown two back.

I concede that he’ll need to be at his best, but I think he takes weight from the right horses here.

Warrnambool – Race 5 2:15PM AEST

BEST BET: No. 2 Flying Agent – Bet Now: $1.75

Flying Agent has been living up to his name recently and will take a power of beating in Race 5 at The ‘Bool.

The Raise The Flag gelding hasn’t missed a place at his last three appearances and recorded a smart win at this track and distance two back.

He’s rock-hard fit and is my best bet on the program.

Warrnambool – Race 6 2:55PM AEST

No. 1 Bit Of A Lad – Bet Now: $3.20

Bit Of A Lad will take winning form into the Thackery Steeplechase and is up to making it two in a row.

The Ladoni gelding has been one of the country’s better jumpers for a few seasons now and has returned to the races in typically competitive form this time, culminating in his smart win in the Australian Steeplechase last time out.

I like that he’s had a trial since that effort and he’ll take beating today.

Warrnambool – Race 8 4:15PM AEST

No. 4 Felix Bay – Bet Now: $3.10

Felix Bay will take good improvement into his second campaign task and looks up to wining.

The rising eleven-year-old has continued to produce high-quality efforts throughout his recent preparations and when to the paddock after winning over 2500m at Pakenham in April.

He resumed with a good effort to finish a nose behind Nahanni over 2000m at Casterton last week and relish a return to the conditions of this race.
