The Queensland Oaks will take centre stage at Eagle Farm on Saturday and an open field of three-year-old fillies has accepted.
Bargain has been a strong and consistent performer all preparation, and the Queensland Oaks has represented the perfect target for her since filling the minors behind Hungry Heart in the ATC Oaks in April.

Queensland Oaks – Winner
No. 3 Bargain – Bet Now: $4.80
She looks to be the best horse in the Queensland Oaks field, and I think that Bargain will take plenty of beating on Saturday.
The Ocean Park filly continued to improve with each start during the Autumn Carnival this year, peaking of course with her impressive performance that saw her finish a length and a half off the pace on Day 2 of The Championships.
She was freshened after the effort and kept all of her best work for late when second in the Group 2 Roses a fortnight ago, and I’m confident that getting back out to a mile and a half on Saturday will convert into a win.
Queensland Oaks – 2nd
No. 1 Duais – Bet Now: $5.00
Duais hasn’t been seen at the races since finishing second in the ATC Oaks, but she too looks to boast a class edge over a lot of her Queensland Oaks rivals, and she can fight out the finish under Hugh Bowman.
The Shamus Award filly needed a couple of starts to tune up and find her best form when resuming this time, but recorded an eye-catching win in BM72 company at Warwick Farm before completing an ideal transition into black type company when winning the Group 3 Adrian Knock Stakes.
She has been kept up to the mark with a trial since her last start, and she certainly has the ability to win a race like the Queensland Oaks.
Queensland Oaks – 3rd
No. 4 Only Words – Bet Now: $8.00
I think that Bargain and Duais might have her covered on Saturday, but Only Words was an impressive winner of The Roses a fortnight ago, and the Queensland Oaks has been her target all prep.
By Sweynesse, Only Words is another runner who has continued to improve with each start back from a spell this time, and she filled the minors in the Gold Coast Bracelet prior to winning in Group 2 company last time out.
She has drawn awkwardly in barrier 13 but with even luck, and under Craig Williams, she looks capable of another bold showing.
Queensland Oaks – 4th
No. 8 Charms Star – Bet Now: $8.00
Unsurprisingly, Chris Waller holds a strong hand in the Queensland Oaks, and Charms Star looks to be another live contender.
The Per Incanto filly broke her maiden in New Zealand earlier this year, and she finished second in the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks before crossing the ditch to fill the minors behind Only Words in The Roses.
I’m confident that run will have brought her right back on, and she can fight out the finish again.
