The Michael Moroney-trained Tofane is headed to The TAB Everest at Royal Randwick on October 17 with Yulong selecting the five-year-old mare for their slot in the world’s richest race on turf.
Tofane who is currently $34 at TAB for The Everest has raced 15 times for five wins, two seconds and two thirds with her most prominent win taking place last April in the 1400-metre Group 1 All Aged Stakes at Randwick.
Before that victory, Tofane finished fifth in the 1200-metre Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes at Randwick last April during The Championships and prior to that was third in the 1100-metre Group 1 Galaxy at Rosehill last March.
Tofane resumed from a spell with a close third to Zoutori and Banquo in the 1200-metre Group 2 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington last Saturday.
TAB’s representative for The Everest, Nature Strip, is currently the $3.50 favourite.
