Melbourne Cup winner Vow And Declare has run second in a barrier trial at Cranbourne as he prepares for his return.
Ridden by Cup-winning jockey Craig Williams, Vow And Declare worked home well behind the David Brideoake-trained Shepard at the end of Tuesday’s 1190m-heat.
Trainer Danny O’Brien will decide between options in Melbourne and Sydney for the stayer’s race return.
