Waller keeps Lady Shenandoah at home for Concorde Stakes return

Chris Waller has opted against sending Lady Shenandoah to Melbourne for a Group 1 return, instead keeping her in Sydney to launch her spring.

The three-time Group 1 winner was not among entries for the $750,000 Moir Stakes, and will resume in the $1 million Group 3 Concorde Stakes at Randwick.

It will be her first 1000-metre run since debut, and Waller said remaining in Sydney removed an extra challenge.
“First time 1000 metres (in Stakes grade), I’d rather do it in Sydney than first time 1000 first time left-handed,” he said.
“We’ll just do one question mark instead of two question marks.”

A strong showing could set up a tilt at the Group 1 Manikato Stakes or even The Everest, while longer options such as the $10 million Golden Eagle remain on the table.

Stablemate Angel Capital is also set to resume, with Waller weighing up the $300,000 Group 2 Tramway Stakes at Randwick or the Listed Chautauqua Stakes at Moonee Valley.
