Who Shot Thebarman wins the G1 Sydney Cup

Winx’s veteran stablemate Who Shot Thebarman has won the Sydney Cup at his fifth attempt.

The nine-year-old, who fell in last year’s edition, fought the race out with New Zealand stayer Zacada and won by the barest possible margin.

The victory gave trainer Chris Waller three straight Group One wins after Unforgotten won the Australian Oaks followed by the wonder mare Winx’s history-making victory in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
