A 10 percent share in Coleman, the colt who narrowly missed out on winning last year’s Golden Slipper, is available in Inglis Digital’s April (Early) Online Sale. The share has already attracted attention, with a leading bid of $80,000 placed by 4:30pm on Friday.
Coleman, a son of Pierata, was one of the top colts of his generation at two, winning the Listed Debutant Stakes and Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes. After a disappointing favourite finish in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, he bounced back with a second-place finish in the Group 3 Pago Pago Stakes and a narrow loss to Lady Of Camelot in the Golden Slipper. He also placed third in the ATC Sires’.
In his three-year-old season, Coleman’s best result was a second-place finish in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes. He has since been transferred from trainer Matt Laurie to Chris Waller and is now preparing for a tilt at the Brisbane Winter Carnival, with the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 and Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap on the horizon.
Other notable lots in the sale include Bout, a sister to Flying Artie, who is in foal to Shinzo, a stallion share in Russian Revolution, and the Capitalist gelding Aardvark, winner of last year’s Listed Talindert Stakes. Final bids for the sale will begin at 10am on Wednesday.
