Peter Snowden has turned to rising star Raging Force after withdrawing filly Memo from the San Domenico Stakes (1100m).

The colt announced himself over winter with three straight wins, highlighted by a dominant Rosehill victory in July that saw bookmakers install him as early favourite for Saturday’s Group 3 sprint.

Raging Force had only raced once prior, in last year’s Breeders’ Plate, where injury forced him out of the autumn carnival. This spring marks his chance to make amends, with Rosehill serving as a stepping stone to the Golden Rose (1400m).

“It’s a good test for him. He is going to meet some decent horses on Saturday,” Snowden said.

He could face a quality line-up including Golden Slipper runner-up Wodeton, Blue Diamond Stakes winner Devil Night and Skyline Stakes winner Rivellino.

Snowden said Raging Force’s versatility on all surfaces and racing patterns gives him confidence ahead of the challenge.
