A disrupted week has not derailed the plans of Richard and Chantelle Jolly, with both runners emerging unscathed from the abandoned Morphettville meeting.
Klabel and Great Maximus will line up in Saturday’s Listed Durbridge Stakes (1100m), a race postponed due to extreme heat in Adelaide.
The original meeting was first brought forward, then abandoned, forcing the Durbridge to be carried over to an expanded 11-race program.
Richard Jolly admitted the delay was not ideal but said both horses remained on track.
“I was a bit disappointed they pulled the pin on them last week,” Jolly said.
“But it hasn’t really altered their prep. The horses are in good order and they’re ready to run as soon as the races are on.”
Klabel shapes as the stable’s leading hope after breaking through in the Listed Christmas Handicap (1200m) in December.
“He’s a very honest horse and should be hard to beat,” Jolly said.
Great Maximus may find conditions tougher under weight-for-age.
“At weight-for-age, over 1100 metres, it’s not going to be ideal for him,” Jolly said.
