The Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman team aims to build on their latest Group 1 victory using another three-year-old filly at Rosehill.

Sheza Alibi claimed the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) last Saturday, and now fellow three-year-old Ole Dancer gets her shot in the Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill this Saturday.

The Coolmore Classic represents a Group 1 event restricted to fillies and mares, with Ole Dancer arriving third-up for the feature.

Ole Dancer, victor of the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield during the spring, has resumed with a pair of outings.

In her first appearance back at Flemington on February 14, she trailed Sass Appeal, who went on to take the Kewney Stakes at Flemington last Saturday, prior to her Sydney trip where she ran third behind Tempted in the Group 1 Surround Stakes (1400m) at Randwick a fortnight ago.

Moody noted that Ole Dancer has advanced nicely since her Randwick effort and mentioned she performed strongly in a gallop overseen by Coleman in Sydney over the weekend.

“She stayed up there and has done well,” Moody said.

“Sheza Alibi just likes the home environment a bit more, whereas Ole Dancer, you could park her in an apartment somewhere and it wouldn’t bother her.

“Katherine’s been up there and is really pleased with how she is.

“Zac Lloyd rides her on Saturday as Trumby (Luke Nolen) can’t make the weight.”

While Ole Dancer has lingered in Sydney after her initial clockwise run, Moody has returned Sheza Alibi to his Pakenham headquarters to monitor the filly closely.

Moody remains cautious about the demanding schedule Sheza Alibi has faced over the last 11 months and plans a spell soon into the autumn.

“She probably has one more if she pulls up alright, but if she doesn’t, she’ll go to the paddock,” Moody said.

“The fact that we are bringing her home, she won’t run again within three weeks, because it would be too hard to make two trips in two weeks, but I’m mindful she was in work 11 months last year.

“That was why I wanted to run her in the Australian Guineas and then maybe have one or two runs in Sydney before she spelled.”

Sixteen fillies and mares have nominated for Saturday’s Coolmore Classic, featuring Cinsault seeking to stretch her current winning streak to four, along with Arctic Glamour, Jenni The Fox, Manaal, Savvy Hallie and Verona Rose.
