Trapeze artist has chased down favourite Redzel to win the $2.5 million Group One TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick.

Redzel led at the turn but the Gerald Ryan-trained colt turned on the gas to pass the inaugural Everest winner and score by a couple of lengths.

Trapeze is fast becoming a giant killer after winning last years Group 1 Golden Rose at big odds when upsetting his more fancied stablemate Menari.

When asked about the possibility of an inviatation to the $13 million Everest trainer Gerald Ryan hinted that the big studs will be coming calling for the son of Snitzel.

In Her Time was third in Saturday’s 1200m race.
