After two encouraging runs to start his career, co-trainer Robbie Griffiths is looking to Bring The Stars producing the goods at Flemington.

Robbie Griffiths is hoping lightly-raced two-year-old Bring The Stars can this time take full advantage of a nice barrier draw to breakthrough for his maiden win at Flemington.

Bring The Stars, a son of Sebring, has raced twice, and has caught plenty of attention on both occasions he has stepped out.

His third race start comes on Saturday in the Racing.com Plate (1400m) and comes on the back of a debut second at Pakenham over 1200m before an unlucky fifth at Bendigo over 1400m on May 2.

Griffiths, who trains Bring The Stars in partnership with Mathew de Kock, described Bring The Stars as a very nice horse in the making.

“He was fantastic on debut at Pakenham, he really hit the line well and he was a bit unlucky at Bendigo,” Griffiths told RSN.

“He tried to use his barrier early and it looked like he was going to get into a nice spot, but he ended up getting dragged back a lot further than Johnny Allen and us wanted him to be.

“He then got into a bit of trouble on the corner, but then finished on quite strong and wasn’t beaten far.

“If he can just get a better position from barrier five on Saturday in the first half of the race, and being a strong finisher, you would imagine he could quite easily find the winner’s stall.

“He’s a very nice horse.”

Jamie Mott, who rode the two-year-old in his debut outing at Pakenham, returns to the saddle on Saturday with Allen on sidelines through suspension.

TAB has Bring The Stars listed as an $8.50 chance in latest markets.

Linas Legend, a debut second at Caulfield behind the smart Generation, is the $3.40 top elect from Blushing Tycoon ($4.80) and Mangani ($6).
