The big talking point from racing over the week end has centred on Hugh Bowman’s winning ride on Olympic Academy and his failure to ride the horse to the line, fortunately for Bowman he got the bob at the right time otherwise you would have to think that his Autumn Carnival would be over before it began. Even though Olympic Academy won I cannot believe how light the fine of $600 is and believe that a much larger fine and or a suspension would have sent a much better message to jockeys heading into the Autumn Carnival.
Talking of Olympic Academy followers of this report should have had a very good collect with Olympic Academy being Matthew Howard’s horse to follow from 2 weeks ago. Keep reading below to see who to follow from Saturday’s meeting.
Below is Matthew Howard’s weekly just racing mounting yard live report which you can also read live Matthew’s thoughts on his Facebook page each Saturday prior to the race to assist with backing winners each Saturday:

Good moving horse however her coat is still as dull as it was last start and has only shown moderate improvement between runs. Still quite big. |

Not sure I would have paid $300,000 for this horse. Good in the coat about the only thing I like. Not much improvement either. |
