Gingernuts takes out Rosehill Guineas

Three-year-old Gingernuts has added the Group One Rosehill Guineas to his recent New Zealand Derby success with a strong display in his first Australian appearance.

The Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards-trained gelding settled back in Saturday’s 2000m race at Rosehill, run in heavy conditions, before making his run around the outside of the field from the 800m mark.

With Opie Bosson aboard, Gingernuts reeled in leader Harper’s Choice just inside the final 200m before going on to score by 2-1/4 lengths over favourite Inference with So Si Bon another short half-head away third.
