Trainer Leon Corstens had his doubts about whether Montoya’s Secret was ready for her outing at Rosehill but the filly has hung on to narrowly win the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m).

Jockey Noel Callow racked up his fifth Group One win on Saturday with a defeat of Nurse Kitchen ($18), which tore down the outside in the final stretch to miss out by only a head.

Harlow Gold ($7) was third followed by $3.80 favourite Foxplay.
