Run Of The Day: Redzel, won at 1,200 for the first time and toughed it out.

Ride Of The Day: Damien Lane on The Mission in the Champagne Stakes.

Forget It Ran: High Church had no luck at all.

 Royal Randwick – Saturday April 15

Race 1 – MERCURIAL LAD $4.80, won from WAR HERO, TIGER BY THE TALE.

Mercurial Lad opened $4.40 and started $4.80, War Hero $3.30 fav before starting at $4.80 equal favourite with the winner.  A few had support being Attainment, Still Undaunted and Fermanagh Lad.

Race 2 – UNTAMED DIAMOND $8.50, won from SWEET SERENDIPITY, YUMA DESERT.

Untamed Diamond was well supported opening at $10 before starting at $8.50. Cannyescent was  the best supported runner opening $5.50 before starting $3.60 fav. Nudierudie was unwanted opening $4.60 and starting at $9 before finishing unplaced.

Race 3 – MONGOLIAN WOLF $6.50, won from VELADERO, SCREAMARR.

All the money was for the very well beaten Acatour who opened at $2.90 before starting a clear $2.10 fav. Mongolian Wolf was unwanted opening at $3.20 before saluting at $6.50.Kunming had good support opening at $201 before starting at $71.

Race 4 – REDZEL $2.90, won from COUNTERATTACK, HELLBENT.

Redzel was the best supported runner opening at $3.60 before starting at $2.90. Both placegetters had support also with Counterattack being $11 into $6.50 and Hellbent being $4.60 into $3.80.

Race 5 – TOP OF MY LIST $15, won from SONS OF JOHN, RUDY.

Top Of My List had good support starting at $15 after opening at $26. Best supported was the unplaced Green Sweet who was $8 into $4.60. Big Blue, Sons Of Johnand New Tipperary had specking also.

Race 6 – THE MISSION $8.50, won from INVADER, WHISPERED SECRET.

Invader was the best backed runner in the race before finishing second. The Mission opened at $8.50 before getting into $6 then back out to the opening quote. Whispered Secret was always solid around the $4.80 mark.

Race 7 – TIVACI $8.50, won from LE ROMAIN, JUNGLE EDGE.

Best supported runner was the unplaced Redkirk Warrior who opened at $11 before starting at $7. Tivaci had solid support and drifted a little before starting at the opening quote. 3rd placegetter Jungle Edge had good early support getting into $9.50 before starting at his opening quote of $15.

Race 8 – RAINMENT $5, won from INVINCIBELLA, SMART AMELIA.

The winner opened at $4.40 before starting at $5 with 2nd placegetter Invincibella being the best supported runner opening at $15 before starting at $8 with the unplaced Prompt Response also being very hard in the market opening $6 before starting a clear $3.40 favourite.

Race 9 – KELLYVILLE FLYER $9, won from DUCA VALNTINIOS, MAURUS.

Kellyville Flyer was the best supported runner opening at $21 before winning at $9. Careless finished unplaced but had good support being $19 into $13. Others that had some support were Sort After and Moher.

The Money Was Right: Kellyville Flyer in the last was the biggest go off the day.

Left It In The Bag: Redkirk Warrior in the All Aged was the same story as the Doncaster.

Friendless: Mongolian Wolf doubled his quote before winning for his new connections Australian Bloodstock.

 

Caulfield – Saturday April 15

Race 1 – MA JONES $4.80, won from QUILATE, LADY SELKIRK.

First across the line Quilate was the best supported runner opening $6 before starting the $3.80 fav, the unplacede Hot Ruby was also well supported being $7 into $4.60. The winner Ma Jones opened $4.80 touched $3.80 but got out late to start at the opening quote.

Race 2 – AL PASSEM $13, won from REDCORE, EASY BEAST.

The placegetters were the best supported runners with Redcore opening at $10 before starting at $5.50 with Easy Beast opening at $6.50 before starting the $3.40 fav. The winner had little support opening $8 before starting at $13.

Race 3 – MISS VISTA $4.40, won from GREY STREET, CHASE THE HORIZON.

Best supported runner was the winner Miss Vista who opened at $7 before starting the $4.40 favourite. 2nd placegetter had some support being $12 into $9.50.

Race 4 – WATERLOO SUNSET $5.50 AND PLENTY TO LIKE $13, won from SO POYSED.

Both deadheaters had support with Waterloo Sunset being $6.50 into $5.50 and Plenty To Like being $17 into $13. Best supported runner in the race was Another Coldie who opened $6.50 before starting a clear $3.80 favourite.

Race 5 – MERRIEST $8.50, won from SNITTY KITTY, SELENIA.

Merriest was the best backed runner with an opening quote of $14 before starting at $8.50 with the unplaced Moonlites Choice also very well supported being $17 into $10. Artemis Rose opened a clear $3.30 favourite and was friendless before starting at $7.

Race 6 – BOOM TIME $6, won from DE LITTLE ENGINE, HANS HOLBEIN.

The best supported runner was clearly Hans Holbein who opened at $2.15 before starting an odds on fav at $1.80. Genuine Lad had good specking being $81 into $26 with the winner Boom Time always solid around the $6 mark.

Race 7 – MISS GUNPOWDER $5.50, won from BOOMWAA, HEZA RIPPER.

The winner had good early support getting into $4 from opening of $5 to get out late on the back of very strong support for the unplaced Lake Como who was $6.50 into $3.60.

Race 8 – HOOKED $5.50, won from CHARMED HARMONY, TURBO MISS.

The winner had some support opening at $6.50 before getting home at $5.50 just in front of the very well supported Charmed Harmony who opened at $31 before halving the quote to start at $15. Others with good support were Hellova Street who was $4.20 into $3.60 and Fast ‘n’ Rocking who was $17 into $11.

Race 9 – OBSERVATIONAL $9, won from SECOND BULLET, DOBULE BLUFF.

The winner had very good support opening at $18 before winning at $9. In a keen betting race Grey Lion was $16 into $6.50, Goldstream $11 into $7, Tarquin $17 into $11 and Jacquinot Bay $17 into $11.

Race 10 – SADAQA $15, won from CURRAGH, THE CHAIRMAN.

The winner had good support being $23 into $15 with the unplace Pemberley also having very good support being $23 into $10. Others with specking were Curragh, The Chairman and Nevis.

The Money Was Right: Observational halved it’s opening quote before getting home.

Left It In The Bag: Hans Holbein had great support but couldn’t get the job done.

Friendless: Al Passem opened at $8 before getting home at $13

 

Doomben – Saturday April 15

Race 1 – SPIRIT OF KIOWA $12, won from TONI MAY, SURFACE TENSION.

The best supported was 2nd placegetter Toni May who opened $2.90 before starting a clear $2.20 favourite. The winner was always solid around the $12 mark with unplaced Last Sight having specking being $21 into $11 before starting at $15.

Race 2 – BOLD KINGSTON $11, won from SNITZ, BOLD XAVVI.

The winner opened at $8 before getting out to $20 with late support back into $11. Clearly the best backed runner was the unplaced Capial Gain who was $4.20 into $2.20. Snitz also had good support being $3.60 into $2.90.

Race 3 – MARSEILLE EN FLEUR $15, won from FRIENDS, STARENA.

The winner Marseille En Fleur opened at $13 before getting out to $18 with some support getting back into $15. Nothing was backed of note in the race.

Race 4 – TUMBLER $1.95, won from STRATURBO, TISANI TOMSO.

The winner was the one punters wanted and was $3.70 into start an odds on favourite at $1.95. Unplaced Lady Jetsetter was the next best supported being $10 into $4.60. Mr Favulous had some specking being $31 into $21.

Race 5 – DEEP IMAGE $8, won from I’M A RIPPA, CANDIKA.

Deep Image had some support opening at $10 before starting at $8. Candika was well supported being $3.50 into $3 with Our Beebee not wanted being $2.40 out to $3 before finishing unplaced.

Race 6 – KYLIE’S FAME $17, won from BOLD PEAK, FAR NORTH.

The winner Kylie’s Fame had good support opening at $34 before saluting at half the quote, placegetter Far North also had very good support being $41 into $17. Others that were specked were Marabel, Ironborn, Heroism and Herrschaft.

Race 7 – SIEGFRIED $2.80, won from SIR MOMENTS, JOPA.

The 2 Toby Edmonds runners were easily the best supported with the winner Siegfried being $6 into $2.80 favourite whilst the unplaced Fiery Heights was $11 into $3.80.  Lucky Tom had some specking being $26 into $13.

Race 8 – RULING FORCE $5, won from DANCE OF HEROES, COMACINA.

2nd placegetter Dance Of Heroes was the best supported runner being $6 into $3.20 favourite. The winner opened at $4.20 before touching $6.50 with some late support saw him start at $5.

The Money Was Right: Tumbler was $4.20 and flew late to get the money at $1.95.

Left It In The Bag: Fiery Heights was very well supported being $11 into $4 before finishing unplaced.

Friendless: Sir Moments for a well performed horse who ran well was $8 out to $23 so he mustn’t have looked good in the yard.
