RICHIES BEST BETS

 GOSFORD

THURSDAY 11 MAY

RAIL: +3m 1100m-W/P- True remainder                              TRACK: Good

RACE 1          Maiden 1100M

 NO.1               LATITUDE

LATITUDE returns to Sydney having raced twice this campaign in Melbourne and finds herself in a very weak maiden and she doesn’t get the chocolates today the future looks gloomy. She first three career starts were here at Gosford so there is no issues there and with an inform Tommy Berry on top I expect the daughter of Casino Prince to roll forward and find enough to secure her first win. Second pick is Regenesis having his first start for Kris Lees having previously been trained by John O’Shea for Godolphin. His two trials have been solid and he looks the only threat.

Selections:       6 Latitude                     3 Regenesis                  5 Harperzozo

RACE 3          Benchmark 65    2600M

 NO.4               ROKDA KASBA

I am never too excited about betting in moderate benchmark 65 races over 2600m but I think all being equal the James Cummings trained ROKDA KASBA can get the cash. He is nothing to write home about but I thought his last effort where he went a bit keenly during the run was good enough to have him on top here. The step from 2000m to 2600m shouldn’t pose any problems and with Jeff Penza on board I wouldn’t be surprised if he took no prisoners. If he was to get beaten it may be the surprise packet Kilmarnock formerly trained in Sydney but after showing little thinking he was a sprinting type has found his niche’ over a trip under the care of Lea Selby at Armidale. His last start win at Grafton was super coming from last to swoop past his rivals.

Selections:       4 Rokda Kasba             3 Kilmarnock   2 Art Of Defence
