Has been hitting the line well in stronger races than this. 2 starts back he chased home hard behind the above average duo CRAZY POPS & CARE TO THINK beaten only 0.7L. Last start he competed at Listed level, beaten 6L behind GOOD STANDING & SYLPHEED. He didn’t enjoy a lot of racing room early in the straight, but when clear he did hit he line well. Big drop in class here, extra trip suits and is the horse to beat.

The time honoured Mid-Week maiden staying event! We almost got the chocolates at $15 last week with COLONEL KELLY, but we won’t be coming into him today at the price. 9 EXPERTEA looks like a filly that will appreciate the step up in trip. This daughter of Al Maher has been ok in 3 runs this prep, and gets to the right trip here in a very winnable race. Last start settled handy in the run before being shuffled back and losing momentum around the 800m mark. She was able to get into her rhythm again and hit the line well. She can be handy to them here and possesses enough speed to put these away. The rest of the field has had plenty of goes at winning, and she might be just a little bit better than these here. She looks a safe each way play.

BEST ROUGHIE RACE 8 NUMBER 3 START DREAMIN $34 & $8

This mare can be a tease as she gets back and runs on in her races, but at the price is definitely worth a roll. Forget she went around at Toowoomba last start, she never got a crack at them at any stage in the straight behind the impressive SAIPAN, who has since won again. There looks to be enough speed in this race to allow her to settle and get a nice cart into the race before unleashing her sprint late. Her best will see her closing hard late, and with a bit of luck will be in the finish.
