A dry surface at Rosehill on Saturday will see him return to his better form and turn the tables on Oklahoma Girl and others and leave no doubt in anyone’s mind he is the horse to beat when they line up in the Queensland Derby.

RACE 7                      NO.7   NEW TIPPERARY

If the heavy tracks haven’t flattened the Joe Pride prepared NEW TIPPERARY I think he can bounce back to the winners circle tomorrow afternoon in the seventh race on the card the Lord Mayor’s Cup 2000m.

New Tipperary has failed three times this campaign all on heavy tracks while running a bottler in the group 2 Ajax Stakes behind subsequent Doncaster Handicap winner it’s Somewhat on a soft surface finishing second. Pride has been bullish about the son of High Chaparral for several months but the weather is something even pride can’t control.

The sun is supposed to be out today and tomorrow and that is all both Pride and I think this galloper needs to show his best. No.11 Happy Hannah is another who will jump out of the ground on the firmer surface and shouldn’t be underestimated especially down on the limit of 53 kilos.
