Race 1

8 – 1 – 7 – 5

It’s simply if MISS INVINCIBLE can do what she did over 900m here at the trials over 1100m on race day against and she’ll be very hard to beat. She has a stack of speed and can run and she will be hard to run down. Godolphin have two chances with Rheingau who has race experience and is sure to have improved from debut and Colombina who has trialled well enough and gets the advantage of barrier one.

Race 2

6 – 1 – 2 – 4

Not a race that enthuses me but I’m going for Epidemic who broke her maiden last start when sitting on the speed and being far too good in the run home. The second horse has since won in town albeit by a pimple. She’s the one to get past in my mind. Curdled was pretty good first up behind Bon Amis and from gate one should get the right run. Junglized will race handy and it’s hard to knock him as he has won two on the trot including last start at Canterbury.

Race 3

3 – 1 – 5 – 9

IMPERIAL AVIATOR was only having his second start in Australia and his first for five months when a super second here a fortnight ago over 2000m. Waterhouse and Bott had given him a good grounding so he should have improved and he will hard to beat here. Vassal finally got back in the winner’s circle last start and even with a big weight he is sure to run well again in similar grade.

Race 4

7 – 12 – 13 – 19

Very hard race but I’m in the corner of TAKOOKACOD who comes back to Sydney after initially commencing his career here in terrific form. His last start win was very strong and he impressed with his turn of speed. Prior to a spell Star Aspiration was good when second here then resumed with a strong on-pace effort when here behind Equal Balance. If she gets luck early she will be there for a long way. Bel Diablo didn’t get a lot of room last start here in the same race but will need plenty of luck having drawn the car park.

Race 5

10 – 5 – 2 – 4

Really think CHALK will run a terrific race here at double odds. His form is around some handy Saturday horses including one he races here Redouble and with 51.5kg on his back he will give a sight. The 1500m is a little query but with no weight and if he can just relax I think he will run it. Sedanzer was a big drifter first up but class got the job done and he is sure to strip fitter here. Hard to know Redouble after his two wins especially his latest when deep throughout but he will need to be even better here from an awkward gate. Cellarman and Cosmic Engine have some claims with the right run.

Race 6

7 – 4 – 2 – 3

Savapinski is the one to beat following here second in the group 3 Tesio Stakes then her dominant win at Flemington in the group2 Matriarch stakes. She certainly took a huge step when she ventured to Melbourne. I think BLACK ON GOLD is an emerging horse himself and with a light weight and a soft barrier in what should be a genuinely run event he could charge over them late. They look the clear two top picks.

Race 7

8 – 4 – 9 – 1

Good race with nothing between Cabeza De Vaca, FEDERAL and Mister Sea Wolf.

Cabeza De Baca will likely lead and no doubt be hard to beat as he is chasing his sixth straight win. Mister Sea Wolf is a former European having his first start in Australia off the back of a nice trial. He is a handy horse and must be respected but Waller did tell Just Racing he will take benefit from the run. FEDERAL should be ready third run back from a spell and was hitting the line ok last start behind Cabeza De Baca who he meets 5kg better off this time. The little voice in my head is saying the blow outs are Red Excitement, Mighty Lucky or Good Project.

Race 8

5 – 12 – 1 – 9

The favourite for the Starlight Stakes is Glenall and with only 53kg on his back and from a soft draw he must be given serious thought as he did a good job first up for the Hawkes stable to win here a fortnight ago but that said he will have some better horses chasing him here. EGYPTIAN SYMBOL is a quality mare who looks well placed on 54kg and is first up a scenario she has won three from four times previously. She has trialled twice and looked good on both occasions.

Race 9

6 – 7 – 15 – 2

BEST GUESS is flying at the moment and he jump and roll forward and I am expecting he will camp on the hammer of Coolring who will likely lead from out wide. Best Guess will likely find a kick as they straighten and I am hoping has enough in the tank to hold them at bay. Powerline looks good odds to me coming off a very good first up effort at Flemington on Oaks day. He has drawn good here and looks to get a good run. Pipeline went awesome first up behind Best Guess so gotta be included amongst the players again although second up previously he hasn’t fired. Perfect dare is big odds but will get a perfect run from a soft draw and is capable of being around the mark.
