Moonee Valley tonight with White Hot Snowy

MOONEE VALLEY Friday March 16

Rail out an extra 2m to the 4m position from last week, Good 4 improving, perfect track, no dangers being up close tempo and near fence.

BEST BET:               CLIFF’S EDGE R7#1

BEST VALUE:       OAK DOOR R6 #7

Race 1: 2-13-4-12

Tremendously difficult start with mix of well performed debutants and lightly raced talent from varying form lines. Going CHESS STAR with blinkers on who ran into Zizziz on debut and tracked wide. That’s good enough form. ICON has trialled and jumped out well to say its competitive on debut. GOROKAN EXPRESS by Spirit Of Boom was good in early season public appearances. From right stable. YULONG MONOCEROS has trialled after sound spring efforts in strong form races.

SUGGESTED: Tough, but like CHESS STAR in blinkers.

Race 2: 4-6-7-2

DIVINE COMMAND is due a Valley win, (especially after scratching main danger Ashley Marie) last 2 2nds very good without best of luck. Should be the one to beat. ISLE OF CAPRI comes through same last start race at the Valley and went just fairly I thought but competitive with top pick. THREE STRYKES had its chance in the Ceylon – Divine Command/Isle of Capri race.

SUGGESTED: DIVINE COMMAND to break through.

Race 3: 3-7-1-11

Looks a Weir race leaning BRINGIT over SKILLED HUNTER, both last start winners, Bringit a BM64 1st go 2000m and Skilled Hunter a BM58 in blinkers 1st time. Surprised if winner outside them. DOOGAN’S RISE comes here with a class drop, HIGH SIERRA off a well ridden Terang maiden start #4.

SUGGESTED: Weir Q but going BRINGIT to bring it home again.

Race 4: 6-2-9-14

SCOLARIO was heavily backed to win here a fortnight back and got a great E Brown ride to land the gamble. Can see similar scenario here. EL RADA will go here rather than Saturday after solid on pace win Ballarat. This better option too. WORKING FROM HOME has pace, 1st time Valley, but sound Flemington straight. RUCHLA is a talent in making, can use alley.

SUGGESTED: Weir again with SCOLARIO.

Race 5: 1-3-4-5

ASHLOR looks well graded even with 59kg after claim and excellent winter campaign that say an Adelaide BM90 win and only 1.6 lens from Sweet Sherry in a G2. PLATEAU GOLD is racing well without winning. Can be competitive from mi-draw. GIBBON has had two good experiences MV short courses last 2.  KHAN is in new hands – won 1st start in a race Randwick Breeders Plate but now a gelding

SUGGESTED: ASHLOR at the odds.

Race 6: 7-6-8-13

OAK DOOR resumes here, won 1200m fresh up 2 campaigns ago and good fresh last campaign (2nd Stellar Collision). Like the $8 now, awkward gate but rolls forward I’d think. GLENALL backs up off Oakleigh Plate when not bad, especially for this grade. WHISPERING BROOK has raced its way out of WA, now with Weir, ran well only appearance here. Stablemate LAND OF PLENTY goes in if gets run.

SUGGESTED: OAK DOOR at the odds.

Rave 7: 1-3-2-6

Not hard to find CLIFF’S EDGE despite a gassing run in the Australian Guineas last week. Drawn much better here and if Mott nails the ride, horse nails the win. LEVENDI is the overs, had a totally forgettable Guineas from behind barrelled going onto the track in parade and then knocked out of it hence Bayliss month suspension. Carbine Club winner in spring is good enough here. ASTORIA racing well and back from 1800m should be a bonus. Doubt any more legitimate winning hopes. SUGGESTED: But in saying that CLIFF’S EDGE wins.

Race 8: 13-9-2-7

Was only a maiden at Gawler but hard to miss the run of MOGHUL EMPIRE (by 8 lens) breaking maiden status. MEAT TRADERS was plain at Ballarat, better resuming at Sale. CALENDAR LAD is back to 1600m, last 3 runs all good enough to be competitive here.

SUGGESTED: MOGHUL EMPIRE looks promising.

QUADDIE:

1-2-3-4-5

6-7-8-13

1-3

9-13

$80 for 100%
