Anamoe back on track for Queen Elizabeth Stakes

After throwing a scare into the Godolphin camp last week, Anamoe is back on track for his Queen Elizabeth Stakes bout on day two of The Championships at Randwick.

Trainer James Cummings confirmed that the latest blood samples taken from the star colt had come back normal and Anamoe was expected to take his place in Saturday’s Group 1 finale.

A brilliant winner of the Rosehill Guineas, Anamoe suffered a slight setback when he presented with a temperature and minor blood abnormality late last week and Cummings took the precaution of reporting the issue to Racing NSW stewards.

However, the horse didn’t miss any work and following the updated blood results on Wednesday, Godolphin confirmed the three-year-old appeared “fit and healthy”.

Anamoe and All-Star Mile winner Zaaki share the second line of Queen Elizabeth Stakes betting at $4.60 with Verry Elleegant holding market sway at $3.
