Another meeting shift in Victoria

Wet weather has forced the transfer of another meeting in Victoria.

For the second time in as many days, a race meeting in Victoria has needed to be transferred.

Thursday’s meeting at Warrnambool will now be run at Coleraine following a Racing Victoria stewards’ inspection on Wednesday.

The Warrnambool track was deemed unsuitable for racing following 10.4mm of overnight rain which added up to 56mm over the past seven days.

A further 5mm of rain was expected throughout the day on Wednesday at Warrnambool meaning the track was unlikely to dry sufficiently prior to Thursday’s meeting.

The Coleraine circuit was rated a Slow 7 on Wednesday.

All scratchings have been reinstated with trainers having until 7:30am on Thursday morning to withdraw their horse.

The transfer follows Wednesday’s shift of the Cranbourne meeting to Moe due to the state of the track.

With Moe racing on Wednesday, the Saturday program that was scheduled at that track has been moved to Bairnsdale.
