Unbeaten mare Autumn Glow will chase her sixth straight win when she lines up in Saturday’s Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill.
The four-year-old returned last month with a strong victory in the Toy Show Quality (1100m) on a heavy 10 surface, and trainer Chris Waller expects her to appreciate firmer conditions.
“Everything at home indicates that she is. I’m very happy with her,” Waller said.
“The 1300 will probably suit her a little bit better than the 1100.”
Her rivals include Doncaster Mile winner Stefi Magnetica, Doncaster placegetter Encap, Kiwi runner Pier and Spring Champion Stakes victor El Castello.
Autumn Glow has been installed a $1.55 favourite, though Waller insists she still needs to prove herself at Group 1 level.
Stablemate Joliestar resumes in the Sheraco Stakes (1200m), a year after defeat as odds-on elect in the same race. A Newmarket Handicap winner in the autumn, Waller says she has matured and will be ridden more patiently this spring.
