Bjorn Baker’s winning streak continued at Rosehill, and now he’s looking to add to his success at Randwick on Saturday, where his promising two-year-old filly, Within The Law, aims to boost her Golden Slipper chances.

Having taken out the $500,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) in December, Within The Law is rapidly approaching $1 million in prizemoney, after finishing second in the Inglis Millennium (1100m) at Randwick. She caught the eye when narrowly beaten by Kris Lees-trained Rivellino, with both horses set to face off again in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m).

“She is going really well and has improved since last time,” Baker said. “This will be a step up, a test to see where we are at among the other fillies. We have to be confident in her with the way she has been going.”

While drawn awkwardly in barrier 12, Baker is unphased by the position, confident that Within The Law will be making a late charge.

With a Racing and Sports rating peak of 101, she’s chasing Rivellino, who sits ahead on the scale. Bellazaine, winner of the Listed Lonhro Plate, is favourite for the Sweet Embrace, alongside Snitzel Miss at $4, while Within The Law is priced at $6.

Meanwhile, Arapaho faces off against Via Sistina, Fangirl, and Ceolwulf in the Group 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes (1600m), a race that might be too fast for the eight-year-old. Despite being an $81 outsider, Baker remains hopeful, with the Tancred Stakes on March 29 as Arapaho’s main focus.
