Ballarat turf meeting moved to the synthetic track

Ballarat meeting switched from turf to the synthetic.

A forecast for more rain in the central districts of Victoria has forced the Ballarat meeting to be transferred from the turf to the synthetic track.

The turf track for Thursday’s meeting was rated a heavy 10 with a further 15mm of rain expected on Wednesday and between 10 and 20mm on Thursday.

With that forecast Racing Victoria, in consultation with the Ballarat Turf Club, elected to transfer the meeting away from the turf to the synthetic track.

The transfer has resulted in two distance changes with the Benchmark 64, Race 6, over 2000m increased to 2100m while the 1600m Class 1, Race 7 on the program, shortened to 1500m.

All scratchings have been reinstated and trainers have until 7:30am on Thursday, to scratch their horses.
