Beriman wins appeal, loses at Flemington

After successfully fighting a careless ban at the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board, jockey Nikita Beriman ended the day with a suspension at Flemington.

Beriman appealed a suspension incurred at Tatura on Saturday at the RAD Board on Wednesday morning that saw a 12-meeting suspension overturned.

However she wasn’t as lucky in the final event at Flemington when Racing Victoria stewards alleged she allowed Mr Churchill to shift-in near the 1400m mark.

Perfect Rhyme, ridden by Ethan Brown, was forced to check along Laughing Heir, ridden by Jamie Mott.

Stewards suspended Beriman for 12 meetings commencing after the Benalla Cup meeting on Friday.

She can return to race riding on October 7.
