Race 1

1 – 4 – 6 – 3

The early scratching of Irish Bet has changed the race and I am now backing the undefeated RONSTAR who looks quick enough to dominate this from the get go. The Gary Portelli youngster has won both his starts at 1200m so there is a little query as he steps to 1400m but if he can lead and roll at his own tempo he is sure to prove hard to run down. The highly touted filly in the Coolmore colours PEDICEL was impressive winning on debut at Canterbury and looks as though the extra 300m will be a bonus rather than a hindrance. TEMEYEZ took four starts to win his maiden but was good getting past Tactical Formation over the mile at Gosford. The one thing is for sure is that he will be strong at the end of the 1400m here.

Race 2

1 – 14 – 3 – 6

GRESHAM has gone to another level at his past two runs with dominant winning displays after having won only once at his first 10 starts. It’s another challenge here but the horse he destroyed last start Chalmers came out and was dominant winning at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. I am sure Blake Shinn will roll forward and may lead or take a site and Gresham will do the rest. TOUCH OF MINK will have a 7.5 kg pull in the weights and a soft barrier so she must be given serious thought while SCHUBERT is another who has drawn soft in gate three and if allowed to relax early could be coming hard late at good odds. SPARKY LAD is capable and looks over’s while the spruik horse SWEET VICTORY who is shooting for three wins on the trot is a player but this is another big step up.

Race 3

8 – 10 – 1 – 4

A few of the major players have already been withdrawn leaving I think five horses with winning chances. RADIANT CHOICE will likely roll to the front and like his past two runs be hard to beat while Dia De Reyes only needs to repeat his impressive display here four weeks ago when rounding them up and winning in good style. VALREE is a quality mare racing in terrific heart at present winning here two starts ago before a solid third at Canterbury against a good field with a big weight. She has drawn perfect here to get the favours making her a major player. MY BLUE JEANS finally broke his maiden last start at Canterbury in good fashion albeit over 1250m and now jumps to 1500m while Haames gets barrier one and drops 2,5kg and really only needs to repeat last start third behind Radiant Choice to be in the major spoils here.

Race 4

3 – 2 – 7 – 1

The favourite SO SPLENDID is first up following a just over four months on the sidelines but has been readied for this with two solid barrier trials. Chris Waller told Just Racing during the week so has come back in good order and perhaps a little more focused and she should run well. I am putting my cash on LA CHICA BELLA who after a forgettable first up run has turned in two very good efforts with a second to the highly regarded I Am Serious and a last start third behind Princess Posh. The step up to 1500m should be ideal and although drawn deep I expect her to cruise across at her leisure and take control. I AM AWESOME was beaten last start at Taree but wow it was a super effort and with no weight here and a senior rider going on top don’t be surprised if she takes the next step. TOKEN OF LOVE is tough and honest and from gate o ne must be given some thought.

Race 5

5 – 1 – 13 – 3

Wow what a tricky race with a stack of chances and a stack of Chris Waller runners. I have no real firm opinion, but I do know if CHATELARD can bounce off his first up run a fortnight ago here behind Volpe and I Am Serious he will take some beating. VAUCLUSE BAY is usually always a player in these types of races and if he is allowed just to relax that little early he should be finding the line. Chris Waller gave a few of these a rap in the Just Racing video but had a slight learning to WALK THE STREETS who is third up and steps up in distance and more importantly get a better track surface than the heavy track last start. HUNTER JACK from a soft draw I am confident that he will run well as he strips fitter after two runs back from a three month let up.

Race 6

6 – 7 – 5 – 4

HARPER’S CHOICE has done a good job for his owners winning over $550k but for us punters there is only two wins from his 19 starts but I am hoping he can record number three here. Following a month’s let up he was only nailed late but Dagny who he faces again here after he worked a little early and DAGNY got every possible favour. Both of them look major players in a similar race. BLACK ON GOLD is the one to beat for me if the track plays closer to good than soft especially from gate one where he can do no work and I love the fact Avdulla is on board who has won on him and is a strong rider. NURSE KITCHEN should be ready to fire following two runs back and her trainer Kris Lees did give her a good push in the Just Racing video this week. Sayed and Lovani look the3 blow out chances.

Race 7

9 – 7 – 2 – 3

FLOW is first up after a four month spell and has looked the goods in two very solid barrier trials in preparation for this assignment. The wide draw won’t pose any issues as he is the type of horse that likes to work through his gears then roll forward and if Glynn just works his way forward he will be hard to run down in the straight. NEW UNIVERSE is a heart-break horse as he needs everything to go perfectly right before we get to see the real deal. Last start he was beaten a pimple and a repeat of that effort has him right in the spoils. INVINZABEEL gets gate one albeit he is a horse that likes room so not ideal but he only needs to repeat his first up run here two weeks ago and he is a big chance. TOUGHERTHANTHEREST is the query who from a good barrier can bounce back off two luckless and disappointing runs in Queensland.

Race 8

5 – 6 – 14 – 11

BEST GUESS is first up here off two nice barrier trials and although he hasn’t won fresh previously he has run a place and both efforts have been solid. The speed looks to be solid here with Nictock a flyer and although Tango Rain may take a sit there are others with early toe that will ensure the speed is solid. Best Guess has good early speed himself and should find a spot just stalking the leaders. OZARK was very good winning first up behind being a shade disappointing when fifth behind Top Striker. From a good gate and good speed here he can easily bounce straight back. MALAHAT has had a five week break since two very good runs and if he can find a nice spot back off the speed he will be coming hard in the run home. ALBUMIN won terrific first up off a 52 day freshen up and from a nice soft draw and no weight he looks a major player again here.

Race 9

4 – 3 – 17 – 11

The Melbourne visitor MANOLO BLAHNIQ picks himself following a good run here four weeks ago behind Albumin albeit for those who backed him into favourite they were probably disappointed. The step up to 1300m should aid him here plus from a good gate he should be able to sit in behind what looks a fair tempo. THE AVENGER came off a three month break and was very good in getting the job done albeit he looks badly weighted against Pianissimo and All From Scrap who finished behind him. The thing is though The Avenger had good improvement to come and he gets a good barrier here. Both ALL FROM SCRAP and Pianissimo are both chances here and especially the later looks value
