3 LIFESAVER looks the one to beat following his last start here when narrowly beaten by Another Sin who runs in today’s San Domenico Stakes when he conceded six kilos. With plenty of speed engaged here, I think the top two 1 NIC’S VENDETTA and 2 RED KNOT who have a bit of quality can charge hard late.

There is no speed at all, none.

I am going to stick with 1 AWOKE who was scratched from Wednesday to be kept for this race. She comes off a four week freshen up and she is capable of sprinting off a slow tempo. I’m not betting up but I think she is clearly top pick. 8 MARIQUITA is disadvantaged with the lack of speed but is racing in terrific form and will hit the line again. 2 CHATUCHAK and 5 PRADA MISS are the other major players and are capable of settling handy.

3 TANGO RAIN was good first up when did work through the run before he got tired late but he showed enough to say he is back in good order. He is drawn to get a good run and looks top pick. 11 MARSUPIAL is first up off two very good trials while 4 SKYLIGHT GLOW is also first up but will need luck from the awkward barrier.

I’ve got a big opinion of 4 ALWARD believing he will be hard to beat here before heading towards some big group ones here in Sydney before heading down south again for maybe even a major. HE was raced three times in Australia and I think should be undefeated having no luck in his first two runs before blowing a quality field away the last start at Flemington. 5 CHATELARD is three from three and must be respected as he is quality but today’s is his biggest test. 2 VAUCLUSE BAY pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia like the punter’s last start but has been back to the trials and performed well.

A tricky race that looks to have plenty of speed yet I am tipping a horse that will be on speed in 2 CLASSIC UNIFORM. His latest two runs when second have been terrific and now that he’s had four runs back he should be fully fit. 6 LOYALTY MAN looks to get the good run but more importantly, he gets the blinkers back on. The favorite 7 BROADSIDE has a light weight and will make his own luck on the speed.

Good race and plenty of different form lines coming together. 7 RUNAWAY has taken a big step each time he has stepped out that finally got his reward last start with a dominant win at Canterbury. This is tougher no doubt but he will roll forward and keep running. 2 ASSIMILATE is two from two including his last start win over Dracarys who came out and won the Up & Coming Stakes at his next start last week. 5 ADDICTIVE NATURE has huge raps and after winning on debut was ok at his next start when second. The chances don’t finish there.

When WINX won her first ever barrier trial at Randwick on 8 August a lot of the talk was about the impressive hit out by 1 PARIAH. He went to the line under a double hold looking as though this time is going to be his time. The awkward gate today will test him but as he showed in the Blue Diamond he can do work and still have a kick. 10 JORDA is the query runner having not raced since winning the Gimcrack on debut some 11 months ago. 5 CONDOR HEROES has a stack of ability but does things wrong look out if he’s on his best behavior and 4 CHAUFFEUR will charge late.

Nothing between 1 HOGMANAY and 2 SPECIAL MISSILE.

HOGMANAY gets barrier one and if he can jump he should be able to stalk the speed and can be expected to be coming hard in the run home. He loves his home track with 3 wins and a second from four runs. SPECIAL MISSILE is tough and should roll forward here and sit outside the favorite 4 THE PHAROAH and give plenty of cheek. THE PHAROAH may be questionable at the end of the 1500m if tested early. 12 MAPMAKER and 7 FRANCESCO are the other changes who should relish a strong tempo.

Bjorn Baker looks to have total control here with the three top fancies including the class runner 1 BONNY O’REILLY.

I am siding with the more right down in the weights 11 SELITA who was very good first and with an 8kg pull over Bonny O’Reilly I think she can run and keep running. When they clashed in Brisbane during the winter they carried the same weight and there was only a length and half between them. Bonny O’Reilly is obviously a danger with her class as is 7 SIR PLUSH who can turn in a cracking performance when needed. 3 SIR BACCHUS will likely get back and come hard late.
